Big Way Hot Pot (UBC)

Located within the UBC campus community, this branch primarily serves students and faculty. For this younger demographic, our design features vibrant linear lighting and a transparent color palette, turning an outdated commercial unit into a modern space reflecting the university’s energy. Considering the flexibility needed for student dining (solo or small groups), we incorporated numerous bar seats and multifunctional modular seating during the renovation to maximize square-footage efficiency. To manage the post-lecture rush, we optimized the "Express Weighing & Self-Checkout" flow. By preserving the industrial base of the original ceiling and adding localized slat accents, we created a popular social dining hub for students within a very tight hard renovation budget.
